Iram is a Ph.D. scholar in the Department of Architecture and Planning at IIT Roorkee. She was previously associated with Graphic Era University, School of Architecture and Planning, Dehradun, as an Assistant Professor for two years. Before that, she worked for six months as Project Fellow at CSIR-Central building research institute (CSIR-CBRI), Roorkee. She also worked as a Trainee and Architect for two years with Rajiv Goel and Associates Pvt. Ltd., Delhi. She is currently working on the interaction of elderly people with their home environment for her Ph.D. on "Design considerations for Ageing and Independence in Indian home environments."
